About Rob McMillen

Rob is the Managing Director of Ad Ventures and co-founding board member at Kajae.com, which has a mission to end poverty for emerging market residents. Rob is also a partner and co-founder of Alta Global Ventures and Managing Director of Kickstart Peru Seed Fund. Rob spent time as a Head of Growth at Juxta Labs. While there Rob played a key role in creating the new social app Mappen which peaked as the #5 Social Networking app in the US. Rob helped develop new digital growth strategies which led to Juxta's apps going viral at schools across the country. He was previously CEO at Alta - El Dorado Emprendimiento where he worked to help launch the venture industry in Peru. Before that Rob was a Principal and founding team member at Alta Ventures Mexico. Additionally Rob was VP of Sales at Rhomobile. As the first executive hired by Rhomobile, Rob ran sales, operations and finance, successfully helping to lead the company to an exit with Motorola Solutions. That exit represented the highest IRR achieved by both its institutional investors. Rob spent two years before that as a venture capital professional with vSpring Capital. In that position, Rob learned best practices in fundraising, deal sourcing, due diligence, venture deal structuring, and venture portfolio management. He held board observer positions with The American Academy, Aeroprise, Public Engines, FamilyLink, Rhomobile, and Drive Safety. Rob received his MBA and JD degrees from Brigham Young University. While studying at Brigham Young, Rob excelled academically and was awarded an academic scholarship. Additionally, Rob served as the Legal Affairs Director of Brigham Young University’s student run private equity fund, Cougar Capital. As an undergraduate student, Rob attended Utah State University on a leadership scholarship and graduated cum laude with a degree in Liberal Arts and Science. After his time at Utah State, Rob spent a year in Washington DC working for United States Senator Robert F. Bennett. Rob currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT area and is a proud husband and father of four daughters and a son.
