I represent a diverse clientele in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing, construction and management of hotel, office, shopping center, multi-family and industrial properties. I have significant experience in negotiating third-party and "brand" hotel management agreements, hotel franchise agreements, office and retail leases, work letters, subleases and SNDA's, and design and construction documents. Sample engagements include: Represented Zarsion Holdings Group Co, Ltd, a developer from mainland China, in its investment in a $1.5 billion dollar urban infill project in Oakland, CA known as Brooklyn Basin; Represented The Carlyle Group in the purchase, sale and re-branding of its West Coast hotels; Represented the seller of the Holiday Inn Express at Fisherman's Wharf in S.F; Represented a N.Y. law firm as its local counsel in documenting a loan secured by multiple pieces of real estate in CA; Represented the buyer of the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles, CA; Represented the buyer in connection with its acquisition of the Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii, its conversion to a Renaissance and subsequent sale; Represented Rim Hotel Group in the sale of a portfolio of seven hotels located in California; Represented the developer of the Hotel Paradox in Santa Cruz and the Shattuck Hotel in Berkeley, CA; Represented HEI Hotels and Resorts in the preparation of design, construction and FF & E procurement contracts for its West Coast hotels, and served as its local counsel in the sale of the Hollywood W Hotel; Represented Sandhill Development Co. in the negotiation of hotel franchise agreements and in the sale of a Hilton Garden Inn, a Residence Inn and a Courtyard by Marriott located in Silicon Valley; and Represented PlumpJack in connection with the negotiation of a hotel management agreement for the Carneros Inn in the Wine Country.
