About Rob Nudds

I'm a freelance watchmaker, writer, podcaster, and consultant specializing in the fields of watchmaking, design, and brand building. My nickname?"The Swiss Army Knife of Watchmaking". That moniker sprang from the mind of Steve Hammalian of Little Treasury Jewelers in Gambrils, MD (thanks, Steve) and has followed me around ever since. Here's what he meant by it: I've been lucky enough to experience many facets of the watchmaking industry in a career that has spanned more than two decades. I'm a WOSTEP-certified graduate of the British School of Watchmaking. A former key account manager operating a retail network spanning 17 countries, I've also worked on the shop floor in customer-facing roles and behind-the-scenes devising training programs for luxury retail staff. I've designed watches with some of the biggest brands in Germany, Japan, Scandinavia, and Switzerland, and worked with others on their approach to B2C communication strategies. I've been a media professional for over ten years. During that span, I've written more than articles for media outlets all over the world. Currently, I am the host and editor of The Real Time Show watchmaking podcast, the Head of Brand Development at Arcanaut in Copenhagen, working in retail expansion with Fortis and Äonic in the USA, assisting Norwegian brand Straum as a product development consultant, providing marketing direction for anOrdain in Glasgow, writing for WatchGecko in the UK, and creating print and digital content for Revolution USA. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling on as many forms of transport as possible (most recently adding paraglider, jet-ski, and camel to the list), and following multiple sports leagues closely, notably the NFL, MLB, and NHL.
