I have pretty much spent my life in logistics, Working for Mapping companies, electronics firms and 2 Global Airfreight companies at Heathrow, gaining managerial and supervisory skills, import and export knowledge and an understanding of many different aspects of worldwide shipping along the way. Been luckily enough to work across the world at various times including USA, Mexico, Germany, Italy and Singapore. A change of career late in life in to the funeral industry has lead me from working for a large corporate UK company to now owning my own funeral business alongside my wife. Having to retrain and qualify in new skills and still striving towards learning and gaining qualifications to this day. We have grown the business from the ground up, members of both NAFD & SAIF, who have inspected us along with IFSO and our local council, passing with flying colours on all counts and no recommendations in fact taking away copies of our working procedures etc as examples of "Best Practice". The business grows year on year, we pride ourselves on a our reputation, we strive to be the best in all areas, are a trusted choice with our families, constantly innovating where needed and still keeping the traditions and care expected. We set out at the beginning to sign "The Armed Forces Covenant", we achieved this with in the first year and by 2023 we had obtained the ERS (Employer Recognition Scheme) Gold award, the highest award possible, we were the first Funerals directors every to achieve this. A big achievement from a small company.
