Ever since I was 5 years old, I wanted to be "on-the-air". In 2002, I finally realized my dream! It's easy to sit around an play the songs, but I believe it's important to tell you ABOUT the songs. Being an announcer is part of who I am.people listen to the radio to escape from their everyday lives. If I can bring up a tidbit about a certain song that you didn't know, and make you laugh at one of my self-deprecating jokes, it's the greatest feeling in the world! In 1980, my brother (who worked at WDRC) asked me if I wanted to learn production. My response was "what's that?". After 38 years, I think I've figured it out :). It is so gratifying to create an image to you, whether it's through bringing a piece of well-written copy to life, or creating compelling imaging that tells you exactly WHO you are listening to and WHAT you can expect to hear from that station! As a perfectionist, my belief that my next project will be better than my previous one motivates me every single day! I have also expanded into other areas, including traffic and continuity, occasionally writing spots, and have served as a host and MC at several events. Experience with the Smartcaster and Scotts on-air computer systems, with a little knowledge of Prophet and Enco thrown in. Schedule music using the Music Master program. Editing with Microsound and Adobe, and am starting to play around with Pro Tools. Learned traffic with the Marketron system.
