About Rob Scheepens

Since 2001 working as full stack software developer with a focus on Java. Started at Océ Technologies B.V. working on a financial web application as a full stack software developer where the application kept track of all wide-format prints that were made. The web application consisted out of two modules. The first module was installed on the wide-format printing system and the second module was installed locally. Both applications are based on Java, Spring, Hibernate, JSP. After 7 years at Océ I've started working as a consultant and my first assignment was a large Telecom provider where I was working as a senior full stack software developer / technical lead supporting multiple web applications, all built on Java and mostly plain HTML, CSS and JS. During These years I worked together in a agile setting with off-shore delivery centers in Egypt, India and Poland. During this assignment I became technically responsible for all delivery related to the supported online web applications. After working for the TelCo account, I've started working for the Flemish Government, again as a senior full stack software developer and Scrum Master for 2,5 years where we implemented a web application to record and manage taxes (taxed / taxable elements). The web application was based on Java, OSGi, Spring, liquibase, Vaadin. Also for the Flemish Government I have built, together with 2 egyptian colleagues, a responsive web application from scratch. I have worked with the client, UX designer and our egyptian front-end developers to create the application based on Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML5, CSS3, Twitter Bootstrap and Angular, integrating with the backend using soap. During this project I was performing analysis, creating the technical architecture, discussing the UX design, implementing the functionalities, testing and delivering the responsive application. Taking end-to-end responsibility and being involved throughout the project lifecycle is something I enjoy doing. Since July 2016 I'm working at a large pension administrator where I'm working as a senior Java DevOps developer and Scrum Master. We are working in a DevOps Scrum team of 10 persons where we are implementing a financial backend application delivering financial data. The technology stack is based on Java, Spring, Hibernate, Activiti BPM using MQ Explorer (locally ActiveMQ).
