A HNC qualified, safety focused, professional Control & Instrumentation Engineer with over 36 years of experience in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and operation of equipment in continuous production plants within oil and gas, paper mill, industrial gas and offshore industries with National Grid specific experience in the Management Procedures for ‘New Works, Modifications and Repairs’ i.e, ‘G35’, ‘RE18’ as well as SCO91 certification. Up to date end to end knowledge within instrumentation engineering, continuous improvement, projects, control engineering and equipment installation. Throughout an extensive career, experience has been gained in the set-up, commissioning, calibration and fault finding of field instrumentation. Experience of various Control Systems through configuration, software/hardware staging at vendors, start-up and commissioning of new systems on site, carrying out project and maintenance activities on existing plants. Experienced in the selection, installation, maintenance and inspection of equipment used in Hazardous Areas, CompEx EX12A & B - Application Design Engineer Certificate of Core Competency, working experience in the use of Amtech Software. Significant projects; • Tricoya UK, Saltend, Hull - Detailed design work to incorporate vendor equipment, Vendor docuemntation/design review and approval, site construction and commissioning support. • Johnson Matthey, Enfield, Pyrocat Upgrade - Detailed design after 3rd party FEED, ultimately a return to the FEED stage was required and the project was subsequently put on hold. • National Grid St Fergus, Plant 2 Control & Metering Upgrade - Installation & Commissioning support • Shell St Fergus NGL Pump Safeguarding and Control System Upgrade Project which involved the transfer of the 3 NGL pumps and associated equipment to a Honeywell FSC System whilst maintaining plant output and minimising disruption to site operations and St Fergus Partner plants. • Shell St Fergus F&G Upgrade Project which involved the commissioning of a new Honeywell Safety Manager system, the Set-up and C&E testing of the various detectors and the 2ooN voting system and Tie-ins to the existing ESD systems, relay logic panels and FSC’s.
