About Rob Stockman
Our research is directed towards developing concise methods for the synthesis of target molecules of biological, material and/or medicinal interest. The strategies we use to build these targets combine the use of multi-component coupling, two-directional synthesis, tandem or cascade reactions and rearrangements to deliver stereo and regioselective routes which are as concise and efficient as possible. We then use these advanced strategies and methods in the synthesis of natural products and other compounds of high biological interest. We were involved in the synthesis of chemical scaffolds for early-stage drug discovery as part of the IMI European Lead Factory, and are currently using our expertise in a Prosperity Partnership with Croda on the development of sustainable, biodegradable polymers and oligomers for a wide range of consumer product purposes. Rob has more than 100 publications and has given over 80 talks to academia and industry in the UK, EU, US and India. He has consulted for a variety of CROs and UK Pharma companies, and collaborated with academics and companies across the Pharma and consumer product space.
