About Rob Stolte

Rob Stolte is a Dutch graphic designer and visual artist, based in Haarlem (NL). After he finished his study in 2005 at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU), he and his classmate Maarten Dullemeijer founded design studio Autobahn in 2006. Together with Maarten, Rob has presented commercial and self-initiated projects with exhibitions in China, Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands, whilst also designing for clients like Sony Playstation Network, Art Directors Club Netherlands, Royal Institute for the Tropics, TNO and agencies such as 180 Amsterdam, Mediapartners, Youngworks and INDIE Amsterdam. Their work is awarded, among other prizes, with seven European Design Awards. Stolte was a guest lecturer typography at Willem de Kooning academy in Rotterdam and Utrecht School of the Arts. Autobahn hosted workshops and lectures about creativity, typography and entrepreneurship in many countries, including China, Australia, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands. Their work has been published in leading books, magazines and newspapers worldwide. In july 2013 a monography of the work by Autobahn is published under the name 'We Love Graphic - Autobahn'. Since 2023, Stolte also pursues an autonomous art practice, which includes the book 'A is van Os': a children’s book about the origin of the Latin alphabet, ‘GLYPHS’: a serie letter perfumes made with master perfumer Mark Buxton and David Chieze and ‘A preliterate playground’: ongoing works based on Stolte’s (pre)school experiences.
