Rob Tucher has operated Rob Tucher Photographic Documentation (PhotoDoc) as sole proprietor since 1979. Rob Tucher utilizes a large range of camera formats and film types. He routinely works with many formats, including high-resolution digital capture, 4"x5", 5"x7", 8"x10", 7"x17", 11"x14", 8"x20" and 14”x17” and panoramic No. 10 Cirkut photography, and has a large arsenal of equipment that allows him to approach assignments with the most appropriate tools. Rob Tucher has built a huge collection of archival B&W large-format images of historic structures, of subjects ranging from the White House to the Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, from the USS Nautilus submarine to the North and South Bergen Railroad Tunnels in Jersey City, New Jersey, and from view sheds in the Monument Corridor in Washington, DC to the Casa Malpais catacombs and rock art in Springerville, Arizona, which he has produced to the exacting standards of HABS, HAER, and HALS respectively. He has recorded historic structures throughout the United States, from Maine to southern California, Florida to the State of Washington, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. He is fully conversant in black and white, archival darkroom processing and printing techniques as mandated by HABS/HAER/HALS. Much of his work has been directed to the Prints and Photographs Division (Architecture, Design, and Engineering Collections) of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, with hundreds more to the same standards for state-level repositories. He applies this considerable experience, coupled with a Certificate in Historic Preservation (Drew University, Madison, New Jersey), to all photographic assignments. The photographer meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards (48 FR 44716, Sept. 1983) for Architectural History and has years of experience working as an architectural historian.
