About Rob Vanwersch

Currently, Rob is active as program director of the Beweeghuis healthcare network at Maastricht UMC+. In this network, medical specialists, general practitioners, physiotherapists and lifestyle coaches work together in order to provide the best possible care and coaching to patients with movement-related disorders and complaints. The Beweeghuis healthcare network is acknowlegded as a national best practice by ReumaNederland, the Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity, and the National Health Authority. Related to managing this network, he is appointed as director Beweegonderzoekfonds Limburg. Moreover, Rob is appointed as honorary research fellow at Eindhoven University of Technology and as academic director of the Advanced Program Healthcare Networks at TIAS School for Business & Society. Related to these ancillary activities, he is active as researcher, scientific supervisor and lecturer in the field of Business Process Management and Healthcare Networks. Furthermore, he is a member of the international Process-Oriented Data Science for Healthcare Alliance. Rob received a BSc degree (cum laude) in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2005 and a MSc degree (cum laude) in Operations Management & Logistics at the same university in 2007. After finishing his studies, Rob started working at Maastricht University Medical Center+. In 2010, he received a grant from Maastricht UMC+ for a six-year part-time PhD project on rethinking care processes within the Information Systems group of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology. As part of his PhD project, he also spent short periods at the University of Oxford, University of Lisbon, Groningen University, KU Leuven, and Ghent University. On 30 May 2016, Rob successfully defended his PhD.
