I started with Jan-Pro of Southern Colorado in early 2010. I was interested in joining the family business, so after being told that working from home would not be an option, I made the move from New York to Colorado. We are a franchise of the corporate Jan-Pro commercial cleaning company. This is advantageous, as we are privy to all of the information Jan-Pro learns from its franchises around the world. So we can streamline and tweak our local business to be the best it can be, thanks in part to the learning experiences franchisees around the world have shared. Being part of a national company is nice, but the fact that Jan-Pro of Southern Colorado is a small, local business is even better. We get to be active in all of the groups dedicated to improving the city and its industries. Whether the focus is green, diversity, or simply making connections with other businessmen and businesswomen, it is great to be able to work with all of the people striving to improve southern Colorado. I want to help improve my city, so these causes are important. But if the least we can do is make Colorado Springs look better through our janitorial work, or maybe a good carpet extraction or strip and wax, that's not a bad start, either! Working in a business that is both small and family-owned, is a unique and challenging combination. While we do have the advantage knowledge from other Jan-Pro franchises, the day-to-day work is still very much figured out by us on the fly. The hard work we put in at Jan-Pro of Southern Colorado has been recognized in numerous ways: We were recognized with the 2013 Gold Circle award, which is awarded to the top echelon of Jan-Pro franchises. Locally, we have been given many accolades, as well. We have been honored with the Colorado Springs Diversity Forum's "Diversity and Inclusion" award. Most recently, we are thrilled to have been voted "Best Janitorial Company" by the Colorado Springs Business Journal.
