Marketing experience in message guidance and development; copy editing and original content development for websites, blogs, documents and social media. Operations experience in business development, including proposal management; project management; and developing standard operating procedures, including workflows, checklists, and guidelines. Current experience includes business development and project management for Activate Research, Inc, a social science research firm. Fifteen years were spent at A Few Cool Hardware Stores, a group of a dozen Ace hardware stores in Washington, DC area. As the Merchandise Manager, responsibilities included merchandise assortment decisions; inventory analysis; seasonal, promotional and trend forecasting; new product selection including the “Made Locally” program; vendor relations; and special projects. As part of the leadership team, worked closely with all departments, as well as Ace corporate merchants and operations teams. Other highlights include marketing and public relations work for non-profits and environmental and social justice causes. I also spend a lot of time RVing!
