Having completed an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and gaining substantial experience as a technician, I progressed into the role of chief quality inspector, before moving into a role of health, safety & environmental post. I commenced this role in August 2019 and during this time, I built a high level structed occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) & environmental management system (EMS) and in July / August 2021 whilst in this role the company was awarded 3 worldwide accreditations. • Fit 4 nuclear (F4N) accreditation. • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental accreditation.(BSI – EMS 714976) • ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational health and safety accreditation.(BSI – OHS 714981). In summary these are some of my responsibilities: • Implementation of ISO14001:2015 & ISO45001:2018 in manufacturing sector. • Maintaining of ISO900:2015 system. • Writing an integrated management system manual. • Writing, reviewing and overseeing safety procedures. • Conducting HSEQ Internal audits. • 3rd Party Audit Support (BSI, HSE, NRW, insurance and client). • Management of contractors onsite, RAMS, induction training and all other Contractor legal duties. • Identify hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace. • Carrying out site safety inspections. • Making changes to working practices. • Identifying root causes. • Incident investigations and dealing with HSE / insurance over RIDDOR. • Giving advice on safety matters to SMT. • Promoting and developing a positive and proactive safety culture. • Giving high quality responses to statutory and regulatory queries. • Keeping abreast of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation. • Creation and improvement of process safe operating procedures. • Implementation of objectives & targets and KPIs. • Writing Environmental and Occupational health and safety policies. • Induction training, toolbox talks and various QMS, OHSMS & EMS awareness PowerPoint training. • Identify training requirements for staff. • Chair of monthly HSEQ committee meetings. • A champion for mental health and wellbeing.
