About Robe Terfa

I am a dedicated and innovative Biomedical Engineering graduate student at Gannon University, with a strong foundation in Biochemistry, Genetics, and Biotechnology from Jain University. My research focuses on sustainable biotechnological applications, including the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates and polylactic acid from brewery spent grain, and the development of 3D printable materials. I have hands-on experience in immunoassay development, microscopy, spectroscopy, and computational fluid dynamics simulations using ANSYS Fluent. As a graduate assistant, I have honed my skills in laboratory setup, instrumentation maintenance, and materials analysis. My work includes assisting in research on microbial fuel cells, latent heat thermal energy storage systems, and the application of CRISPR for genetic modification. I am proficient in Python, MATLAB, and Fusion 360, and have a strong background in customer service, communication, and lab management. I am known for my strong personality, being open-minded, respectful, and adaptable. I thrive in collaborative environments and am always eager to learn and embrace new challenges. My ability to communicate effectively and work well with diverse teams has been a key asset in my academic and professional journey. I am passionate about leveraging my technical expertise, research experience, and interpersonal skills to contribute to advancements in biomedical engineering and sustainable technologies.
