About Robert Andersen

I have a broad practice, working with government and private clients in a variety of civil, public law and regulatory matters, as well as inquiries and Royal Commissions. I have particular expertise in regulatory investigations and prosecutions (acting both for and against regulators in a number of sectors) and significant/sensitive damages claims against government. I regularly advise on statutory interpretation issues, and represent clients in judicial and merits review proceedings and appeals in a wide range of areas. I also act for clients in commercial matters including claims in equity and contract, and in matters involving allegations of breaches of fiduciary duties. I have assisted numerous clients required to give evidence and produce documents to Royal Commissions, and also specialise in advising clients required or invited to appear before parliamentary inquiries at both the state and federal level. I was honoured to be awarded the inaugural Young Federal Litigation Lawyer of the Year award for 2023, presented by the Federal Dispute Resolution Section of the Law Council of Australia. I was also listed in Doyle's Guide's Rising Stars – Litigation, Dispute Resolution & Insolvency – Australia category in 2019-2021 (the last year the category was published).
