About Robert Anderson

I am an experienced analytic philosophy lecturer with specialities in teaching and researching Critical Thinking, Reasoning, Argumentation, Formal & Informal Logic, Fallacies & Cognitive Biases, and Ethics/Values. As a subject-matter expert in critical thinking at the tertiary level, I can design courses to fit particular requirements, AQF7 and above, CPD, Adult Education, or the Professions. This work may involve curriculum design, teaching F2F or online, facilitating workshops, and assessment for general domain skills in thinking, or more applied to professions such as business. I have taught adult education classes through Sydney University's Centre for Continuing Education and WEA. I have experience teaching F2F in Australia and the United Kingdom, as well as overseas students online. I have received several awards for my teaching ability, which is clear, direct, practical, and effective. My motivation in teaching good thinking and reasoning skills is not to win arguments or score points but to collectively agree about what we should believe or do. I am keen to help people and groups who are in dispute to find rapprochement where my approach is sensitive to other possible reasons why people disagree on matters, for example, background beliefs, assumptions, ideologies, or political stances. I'm particularly interested in micro-credentialling and currently undergoing studies in Instructional Design. I have recently started contract work in Artificial Intelligence - LLMs/Prompt Engineering as an Expert Writer for RHLF systems.
