I grew up in N.E London, England, where I dedicated six years to studying KYOKUSHINKAI-Karate, a Japanese Martial-Art. Practicing 4-5 days a week, trained under Bob Boulton (3rd Dan), and Steve Arneil.(6th Dan). Graded 1st Dan Black Belt under the guidance of Grand-Master Masutatsu Oyama. Eventually opened a Dojo (School) and taught at several other Dojos around London, As a testament to skills learned, I had the honor of representing Great Britain in European Karate Team Championships. Life took an exciting turn while working as a Croupier/Dealer at a renowned London West-End Casino. Discovered America while working on board the Cunard QE2 Ocean-Liner in their Casino. After a year of transatlantic crossings and Caribbean cruising, I embarked on a new chapter at the Paradise-Island-Casino in Nassau, Bahamas, lived there four years. Opened a private Karate-Dojo and taught Yoga on Paradise-Island. Developed a passion for scuba diving. Seeking further mastery in the Martial-Arts I relocated to St. Augustine, FL, and committed three years to learning ISSHIN-RYU Okinawan-Karate under the tutelage of Jerry Kilpatrick, a 3rd Dan practitioner. Later, I relocated to Gainesville, FL, to continue instruction of ISSHIN-RYU, training under SHIHAN Robert Bremmer (6th Dan) and Fitz Fernandez (2nd Dan) for one year. Expanded my knowledge in the realm of health & wellness by studying at 'The-KUSHI-Institute-of-Macrobiotics' in Boston, MA. under the guidance of Aveline & Michio Kushi, spent almost 12 months over a 2.5-year period immersing myself in the study of health & wellness. During my time there learned Japanese cooking for health & medicinal purposes and acquired skills in Shiatsu Massage. Fueling a wanderlust, I purchased a used 24' Motorhome and embarked on a nine-month journey across America, teaching Macrobiotics along the way. Fate led me back to St. Augustine, FL, where I had the joy of home-delivering my first daughter. Subsequently, resided in Whitefish, MT, for 3.5 years, during which time I home-delivered my second beautiful daughter into the world. In addition to being a dedicated father. opened a Karate-Dojo and learned to Ski, embracing the region's outdoor activities. For the next 5.5 years, I made Bend, OR, my home and cofounded an eco-friendly home construction company specializing in Red Iron Steel framed single-family homes from 1991 -1994.
