1980-2001: USMC, served as a helicopter mechanic. Two tours of instructor duty and curriculum development specialist. Designated Master Training Specialist (1986). Retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. March 2002: Hired by LSI as a training specialist and eventually worked my way up to senior instructional designer. 2012-2015: Visiting Instructor for SIU's Workforce Education and Development Program Currently serving as the lead ID for the NETC Robotics Warfare Analysis & Design effort. This effort includes data collection and designing the new Robotics Warfare "A" School training program. Served as the lead ID for the Sailor 2025 Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Aviation Support Equipment Technician (AS) courseware effort, along with complex media design for the Interior Communications (IC) enlisted rating. Served as a senior ISD for a team designing and developing/revising CMV-22 interactive courseware and instructor-led pilot and crew chief training for the Navy. This effort also included a virtual learning environment for students to practice performing system-related emergency procedures. It was a very rewarding effort. Served as a senior ISD for a team designing and developing Combat Rescue Helicopter interactive courseware and instructor-led maintenance training for the Air Force. This training included supplemental instructor guides and student guides for 459 lessons. It was a long effort, but I was privileged to be part of a high-performing team. Served as a government ISD reviewer for a Navy client, reviewing training deliverables for instructional integrity. These deliverables included project documents, such as analysis reports, management plans, and design plans, as well as interactive courseware and related instructor and student materials. Analyzed, designed, and developed interactive courseware for multiple projects, including the USMC CDET Leading Marines, Improved Modular Tactical Vest, and Equipment Grounding efforts. Other efforts include the CH-46E maintenance project and the US Army AH-64E and CH-47F maintainer and operator projects. Specialties: All phases of instructional systems, with emphasis on the ADDIE and Dick and Carey ISD models, MIL-HDBK-29612, and NAVEDTRA training products. Other duties: company Quality Assurance Professional and certified internal ISO auditor.
