About Robert Bauman

As a firm believer in the fair administration of justice and judicial integrity, I am a candidate for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Group 34, a seat currently held by retiring Judge James M. Barton II. After practicing law in Hillsborough County for more than 28 years, I have the most legal experience and higher level of involvement in a greater variety of legal issues than any other candidate in Group 34. Shortly after admission to the Florida Bar, I served as an Assistant Public Defender for Hillsborough County appearing before highly regarded judges such as Chief Judge Alvarez, James Arnold, Robert Bonanno, Manuel Menendez, Harry Lee Coe and Edgar Hinson. During that period I tried cases at the Misdemeanor and Felony levels. In 1988, I joined Morris & Rosen, P.A, which later became the Morris Law Firm, and have been practicing commercial civil litigation for 25 years. As a statewide law practice, I have worked at nearly every level – county and circuit court; oral argument before four of the five Florida District Court of Appeals, and the US Court of Appeals; appeared in and am a member of all of Florida’s Federal District Courts (North, Middle, South), as well as United States Bankruptcy Court in each Districts. I have been a speaker for Lorman Educational Services, the National Business Institute, SMACMA and the HBCA over the last ten years; my stipends are donated to Bay Area legal Services. As a long-time resident of Tampa Bay, I have numerous ties to the community through my involvement at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and as varsity soccer coach at Jesuit High School for 26 years. In 1995, I married Debra Hopson and became stepfather to her three sons. My son, Camden, joined the family a few years later. As a parent, I was a “Homeroom Dad”, Interbay YMCA coach, soccer coach at a variety of clubs and assisted with TBY Football League and St. Lawrence Sunday Basketball to name a few. Currently, I am a founding member of FC Tampa Lutz soccer club.
