With over three decades of diverse commercial experience spanning various industries and countries, Robert is a seasoned professional with a track record of driving success beyond traditional CFO responsibilities. As a Chartered Accountant and equipped with a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University, Robert embarked on his career journey at Deloitte before venturing into financial roles at Nomura International Plc in London. In the year Robert made significant strides as the inaugural employee of Global Online Systems, a company pioneering patented retail loyalty technology. He played a pivotal role in leading the project from its conceptualization to its successful implementation in retail outlets such as Super Liquor, BP, KFC, and Woolworths, establishing robust commercial, operational, and financial frameworks along the way. Transitioning to Kitchener Group in 2002, Robert undertook a challenging role amidst high debt levels within the organization. He orchestrated strategic asset sales, including the divestment of assets such as the Hilton Auckland, Princes Wharf Lessors interests, and over 800 car parks, effectively navigating the group through financial challenges. In 2008, as COO based in Austin, Texas, Robert spearheaded the repositioning of TigerTurf's American subsidiary for sale, successfully managing the exponential growth that outpaced available resources. This endeavor culminated in the successful acquisition of the group by Royal Tencate. Returning to New Zealand in 2010, Robert assumed the role of CFO/COO in partnership with Private Equity, investing in Eco Products, the nation's leading ventilation company. He played a pivotal role in implementing transformative initiatives, including the adoption of MS Dynamics CRM and MS NAV, and commercializing innovative products such as the Next Generation HRV. Under his leadership, Eco Products expanded both organically and through strategic acquisitions, evolving from a mono-line to offering comprehensive home ventilation, heating, cooling, solar, and water solutions, backed by exceptional in-home service to its extensive customer base. Robert's outstanding contributions were recognized when he became one of four finalists in the NZ CFO Awards in 2014. In 2017, Eco Products was successfully acquired by Vector Limited, marking another milestone in Robert's illustrious career of driving strategic growth and operational excellence.
