About Robert Benjamin

I am a business manager with a passion for analyzing business problems, designing effective solutions, and driving organizational change. My proficiency spans all organizational levels, and I leverage a strong academic background in leadership, combined with extensive hands-on experience, to deliver impactful results. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Leadership from Andrews University, which enhances my theoretical and practical understanding of leadership dynamics. For the past four years, I have been working at Microsoft, supporting the reactive support business that serves the US federal government. In my previous role at Microsoft, I collaborated with government and quasi-government entities across all 50 states, supporting their IT goals and objectives and assisting state entities with their change management initiatives. My leadership experience further extends to local government, where I served as an elected county commissioner and chaired the county commissioners. Additionally, as an elected township supervisor, I managed staff, chaired boards and committees, passed local legislation, and oversaw property tax and assessing departments. In this capacity, I also designed and managed township budgets. Beyond my professional life, I am a passionate baseball fan, attending over 100 games each year. As an avid supporter of both the Cubs and White Sox, I have visited all current MLB stadiums, enjoying the unique atmosphere and experiences each one offers. Observing the dynamics of baseball teams—from sales of seats and merchandise to security, team decisions, maintenance, and future development and planning—I draw valuable insights into leadership, teamwork, and strategy. These principles, emphasized in the work of thought leaders like Brené Brown, reflect my appreciation for teamwork, strategy, and continuous improvement—qualities that are integral to effective leadership and that I bring to my professional endeavors. Key Accomplishments: 1. Elected overwhelmingly by my community to represent them in local government. Inducted into the international honor society in business, Delta Mu Delta. Earned a Master of Business Administration from Andrews University. Recognized by the Michigan House of Representatives for service to the residents of Milton Township. Received numerous top performer and customer satisfaction awards over the past 20 years.
