About Robert Bettauer

Robert Bettauer has developed a broad set of executive and strategic leadership skills in the development and management of sport at all levels in Canada. As a former professional athlete, Olympic coach, and senior sports executive as well as through on-going high profile work in the media and on major sport system projects, Robert has established a highly experienced record of on-going success and achievement. His engagement with sport has focused on athlete and coach development including an emphasis on developing the structures and mechanisms required to provide support in critical areas such as training, competition, facilities and strategic management. Robert is currently the CEO of the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE) and is also the President of Vanchen Sports, a private sport consulting business that provides a range of services and expertise in the development and management of sport. Recent projects include major work with provincial governments, universities, national/provincial sport organizations and with major multi-sport organizations. In addition Robert is still an active coach in two sports at the community and high performance level thereby complementing his current involvement at all levels of sport. He also continues to be an educator, presenter, facilitator and leader on many sport related activities and committees.
