Bob Brownson is a shareholder in the firm of Brownson PLLC practicing in the areas of:* Insurance Coverage * Asbestos Bankruptcy and Management * Insurance litigation Bob's current practice involves overseeing and managing asbestos and environmental litigation in numerous states with trial experience in state and federal courts throughout the United States, and a variety of insurance coverage matters, including primary/excess issues, policy exhaustion issues, long-tail claim indemnity and defense allocation issues. For the past 38 years, Bob has focused largely in those two areas; handling insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts, and in arbitrations, in Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, North Dakota, New York, and California, as well as in Canada and Bermuda; and asbestos and environmental litigation matters representing defendants both in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. in asbestos personal injury and property damage litigation, personal injury cases involving mold, lead, benzene, silica, styrene, ceramic fiber, and other chemical and particle toxic exposure, and in groundwater cleanup and insurance coverage matters. These have included major suits by the EPA and state regulatory authorities. Bob has served as National Coordinating Counsel for former asbestos fireproofing manufacturers, an asbestos-containing gasket manufacturer and distributor, as well as Corporate National Counsel for a leading ceiling tile manufacturer in asbestos personal injury, and property damage litigation in over cases, handling or supervising asbestos cases in 39 states, the District of Columbia, and Bermuda, and has tried to juries asbestos property damage cases, in state and federal courts, in Maryland, West Virginia, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Massachusetts, and Illinois. In addition, since his appointment by the United States Bankruptcy Court,District of Minnesota, in 2007, Bob has served as Trustee of the API, Inc. Asbestos Settlement Trust.
