About Robert Buhner

Robert is an aquatic health and safety professional. He started working in the field of aquatics as a lifeguard in 2004 and not long after as a certified Pool and Spa Operator. In 2005 Robert was promoted to aquatic coordinator at the Towson Y of Central Maryland. While in the leadership role at the Y, Robert ensured the proper water chemistry by balancing the water appropriately and preformed several mechanical maintenance tasks as some were routine and others of an unexpected nature. This enhanced Roberts skills and knowledge in pool and spa operations. In 2007, Robert started to pursue the programming aspect of aquatics by obtaining several instructor level certifications related to aquatics and health & safety. After witnessing some of the other training programs in the area, Robert decided to start a training program that is of the highest quality in the industry. The instructors he employs are quality aquatic professionals. Life Saving Instruction was formed in 2008. Robert has been the president of Life Saving Instruction since the beginning and has continued to teach several certification classes. He has expanded into several states and has become a consultant in aquatic management, pool operations and health & safety. He now has expanded to commercial and residential pool maintenance. Robert continues to see new ways to better the aquatics industry and will always strive to do so.
