About Robert Caldwell

Robert Caldwell has been a leader in the Kitchener-Waterloo investment community for more than 40 years. His career began with Davidson Partners before he started his own firm in Waterloo region, Robert Caldwell Capital Corporation, which he led for twelve years. In 2003, Robert joined a predecessor firm of Richardson GMP as Managing Director, and has remained with the firm ever since. He has been extremely active as a Director and Chairman of industry associations, committees and advisory boards, most of them related to the Investment Dealers’ Association of Canada (IDA) — a predecessor to the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Robert has also been a corporate director of several local businesses, including Brick Brewing Co. and Kitchener Wilmot Hydro. Robert is active in the University of Waterloo Board and Foundation, the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business and Economics, the Rotary Club, United Way, and the prestigious C.D. Howe Research Institute, among many other organizations. In 1988, he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International and, in 2002, named Honorary Senior Fellow of Renison College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo. Robert studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Toronto and was a part-time lecturer in Investment Economics at the University of Waterloo.
