About Robert Ciobanu

I am a dedicated professional in the fields of engineering and mechatronics, with a PhD in Engineering and a strong background in research and teaching. Since 2019, I have been a lecturer at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where I teach courses in Physical Optics, Fundamentals of Spectroscopy, and Optical Information Processing, giving me the opportunity to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of engineers. My research focuses on innovative and applied solutions in mechatronics and optoelectronic systems. In 2012, I earned a PhD, which enabled me to explore advanced topics such as robotics, CAD/CAM design, intelligent control systems, and laser microprocessing technologies applied to mechatronics. One notable achievement in my career includes a research stay at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where I conducted simulations for controlling the temperature of materials welded by electromagnetic induction—an experience that significantly contributed to my work in laser processing optimization. Through my research, I aim to push the boundaries of engineering by integrating precision control systems and advanced manufacturing technologies, making meaningful contributions to both academia and industry.
