About Robert Conrad

I am a Software Developer/Engineer with experience in DevOps, Cloud, Embedded and Mobile Development in a variety of languages such as C++, Python, C#, Go and Dart/Flutter. I am currently a Software Developer at Face4 Systems focused on development of applications around image detections and recognition. Who am I? I am a Computer Engineering graduate and software developer with interests in a variety of topics. My interests are around designing technology able to solve world problems and expand human capabilities in a ethical way such as MedTech and Accessible design Education and Experience I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa in Computer Engineering with business specialization in Entrepreneurship and 4 Coop terms. Through my school I was involved with the universities' first MLH Hackathon, multiple roles in the region's and my schools robotics club Ottabotics and its Roboboat team. My coop experience have given me opportunities to explore various fields such as Software Defined Radio, Real time imaging, microservices and quantum computing through programming languages such as C++,Python,Golang,Java and various DevOps process. Goals and Aspirations My goal is to develop new technologies to solve interesting and new problems in a ethical way. Two in particular that interest me are making the world more accessible and creating new ways for people to do exiting and creating new things. Topics such as Computer Vision, Graphics, VR\AR, audio and video, HMI and Robotics all interest me but any field with a clear goal and challenges that benifit the world interest me. One day I would like to persue further education in Masters, manage a project that can open new opportunties for a field and\or work on open source projects, ether in my work or spare time. Hobbies and Side Projects While school has limited my free time, I like to explore opportunties to explore my creative side from a engineering mindset. Video creation, music and creating works with my hands (woodwork,cosplay etc) are all hobbies id like to push further. Over quarentine I played around with the idea of making a board game and expoloring ideas for a arg game.
