Manage the company’s maintenance function, in-house and sub-contracted. •Ensure capabilities meet or exceed customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness. •Play an active role in negotiations with outside vendors. •Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins. •Provide strategic planning and tactical direction in aspects of engineering activities in support of the company vision. •Established relationships with a wide range sub-contract manufacturers. •Work closely with company senior management on cross department business management and company improvement activities, in order to provide engineering advice and technical assistance. •Focus on reliability improvements, cost engineering where appropriate •Effectively organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks. •Provide prioritization, direction, and support of maintenance team leaders and technicians performing breakdown and preventative maintenance on production equipment. •Provides leadership and support of lean manufacturing initiatives to maximize asset utilization and plant performance. •Interfaces directly with vendor technical support groups as necessary in the course of providing maintenance and improvement of manufacturing equipment. •Responsible for facility maintenance: HVAC, electrical distribution, etc. •Manage CMMS maintenance system for maximizing production uptime. •Select, purchase and manage inventory of all necessary maintenance parts and supplies – both expense and capital. •Work with facility manager to develop budgets. •Member of the facility safety committee. •Implements process enhancements in order to increase equipment uptime, improve product quality, and reduce facility costs. •Equipment and process troubleshooting and problem solving experience. •Collaborates with corporate engineering on capital projects (design and implementation, budget preparation) and process improvement projects. Comply with and work closely with federal and state environmental regulatory agencies. Trained using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.
