About Robert Dennis

I am a Business English teacher and communications consultant based in Milan. I help professionals and companies who want to communicate more effectively with clients, customers and colleagues in English. I have taught at a wide range of companies both in the UK and Italy. My clients have included Barclays Capital, Mondadori, UniCredit, Johnson & Johnson, Société Générale and Versace. After graduating in English at Oxford University, I taught Business English for twenty years in London and then moved to Milan, Italy. I have also worked as a copywriter for both private and public sector organisations and as a creative industries consultant in London. I am passionate about language and have studied Applied Linguistics at London University. My interests include art, design, music and films. In June 2020, my first book,"Business English" was published by Gribaudo (part of Feltrinelli). It was launched nationwide in "Il Sole 24 Ore", Italy's leading financial newspaper."Business English" subsequently appeared in bookshops in Italy and online (Amazon, Hoepli, etc). I teach business English to individuals and groups, face-to-face and online. In my lessons, I teach pronunciation, grammar and how to communicate effectively in all business and social situations including meetings, presentations, negotiations, meeting new clients and socialising with clients. I use a wide range of materials, including my own published and unpublished material. Over the years, I have acquired considerable skill in using social media tools and I have a range of blogs, social media feeds and channels where I communicate regularly about Business English, language and culture. I am a feature writer for EasyMilano.com and post articles about modern architecture, theatre, living in Italy and other topics.
