About Robert Dinsmore

Dr Dinsmore is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Dr. Dinsmore is a former Associate Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia Plastic Surgery Program. During his time at MCG, Dr Dinsmore served as the Program Director, and also served as the Chief of the Hand Surgery Service with Plastic surgery from 2009-2011, and as the Associate Program Director of the Residency Program from 20010-2016. Dr. Dinsmore graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Prior to becoming a Plastic Surgeon, Dr Dinsmore completed a general surgery residency at the Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC), Ft. Gordon Georgia, and was board certified by the American Board of Surgery. As a General Surgeon he served as the Chief of General Surgery at the 121 General Hospital, Seoul Korea, and as the General Surgery Residency Research Coordinator at D.D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia, and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. After his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Dinsmore served as a teaching attending in plastic surgery for the DDEAMC general surgery program until leaving service in 2009. He also was an Assistant Clinical Professor in Plastic Surgery at MCG from 2007 to 2009. His military service included 3 combat tours, serving as a Surgeon in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq.
