About Robert Everest

I have been playing music for over 30 years, professionally for over 20, specializing in a variety of World music, most notably Brazilian and other Latin American music. Studies include Flamenco guitar in Seville, Tango guitar in Buenos Aires, classical guitar in Lisbon, West African guitar in Togo, and Jazz guitar in Minneapolis. I have also studied Brazilian percussion in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and West African percussion in Accra, Ghana. My linguistics degree and years spent overseas in over 25 countries have helped me to attain fluency in 5 languages, which I use in my interpretation and composition of world music.Specialties: I provide entertainment for a wide variety of events - both public and private - including weddings, music festivals, and private parties.I also teach private guitar lessons and give presentations and workshops for schools and summer camps including the Blake School, Brimhall Elementary, Minnetonka Public Schools, La Semana summer camp, and St. Joan of Arc summer camp.Since I have been organizing and directing CARNAVAL BRASILEIRO, which has become the most attended Brazilian event in the Twin Cities, attracting nearly 1500 people in 2013.
