Police officer with 22 years domestic and international policing experience in Criminal Investigations Division and Patrol Operations. Departmental Sergeant Major - Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of dress and deportment for all sworn officers and civilian employees, coordinating training related to ceremonial activities and drill, and promoting an atmosphere of professionalism, civic pride and esprit de corps. Staff Sergeant: Watch Commander - Responsible for the supervision and leadership of all Constables and NCO's assigned to Patrol. Critical Incident Commander. Staff Sergeant: Professional Standards Branch - Responsible for supervision and leadership of PSB Investigators, review, initiate and investigate Public and Internal Nova Scotia Police Act complaints. Experienced Detective comfortable with all investigations working independently and as a team. I have been assigned as the lead investigator in numerous attempted murders, shootings, robberies, assaults, sexual assault, frauds, and break & enter investigations. The lengthy investigations involved interviews, interrogations, completing search warrants, seizure of evidence and compiling court files, which have resulted in charges laid. Previous mission experience with the United Nations Mission In Sudan (UNMIS), as a UN Police Trainer/Advisor. Also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserves, as an Infantry Master Warrant Officer with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Extensive military training with leadership, weapons, tactics, mentoring and human & resource management. Skills and Strengths: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English). Excellent investigative techniques and file documentation. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Extensive training and experience instructing and teaching police officers, senior police management and military. Experience living in harsh, austere and hostile conditions.
