Graduate of the Telecommunications Technology Program at Sheridan College, am currently employed with Nokia, as the Privacy Officer & Security Leader for the IP and Optical Business division. For the past eighteen years I have been working as a security professional in the telecommunications industry for two leading equipment manufacturers, Nortel Networks and Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent. In these roles I have delivered solid security solutions and strategies to internal & external Fortune 500 customers based on business requirements and market needs. Applying my ability to understand and balance the requirements for security in network solutions while maintaining performance and reliability. My broad experience covers all aspects of the Information Technology industry, from the desktop and software support, to data center design, network capacity planning, policy writing, threat risk assessments, vulnerability assessment testing, compliance auditing, training, security awareness and Industry Standards. Prior to working with Nortel Networks and Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent, I held the position of Information Technology Security Coordinator for Atomic Energy of Canada, a crown corporation focused on sales and construction of nuclear projects worldwide and delivering value added services to the nuclear industry. In this role I was responsible for all aspects of security for the Enterprise network including physical access, infrastructure upgrades, and maintenance and patching protocols, writing the policies that governed acceptable use, document handling and classification, and design and implementation of security infrastructure to protect the enterprise network, and corporate security awareness training. I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified ISO 27001 auditor. Currently in the process of obtaining the IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) designations.
