About Robert Gaspar

Hi there! My name is Robert Gaspar and I am a Software Engineer graduate from Flatiron School. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL and moved to Dallas, TX. While working in the medical field, I was always the "computer guy" and assisted in many technical issues we faced at our clinics. While working in this field I realized my passion laid else where, it laid in tech. Seeing programmers in movies and other shows, I decided to research more into this. Learning HTML and CSS I was able to understand the concept of architecting a site. As I delved deeper into this, I was hit with the realization of how complex these websites I use everyday really were. But I had to know how and why. After making the decision to learn, I immediately was stuck in my tracks and had three questions in my head."What information do I need to learn to learn about these complex sites?","Where can I obtain this information?", and "How credible is the source of which I learn this information from?". After learning there was not ONE way to write code and everyone had an opinion on what they considered "clean code", I made the objective decision to seek help. This is where I learned about coding bootcamps. I researched which bootcamp was the best and landed on Flatiron School. I then left my comfortable position in the medical to take another leap of faith and attended this bootcamp for Software Engineering. This was the best decision of my life and I cannot be more proud to call myself a Software Engineer. I am a passionate wholehearted individual with a lingering curiosity that enhances all aspects of myself. I work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment, with an emphasis on great teamwork. I am currently looking for an opportunity to work in this field so please do not hesitate to reach out for questions, collaborations or just talk about code. digital portfolio: https://robert-gaspar.netlify.app/github: https://github.com/Robertflatiron
