About Robert Goodwin

Robert Goodwin is an entrepreneur and motivated change-maker, currently driving the non-profit, global organization, Stone and Compass, as the founder and owner. Robert began Stone and Compass in 2012 with the objective of giving back to society and connecting people from different cultures through its business efforts. The organization mirrors the goals of the UN as it stands for sustainable development, international connections, and empowering youth across the world. Stone and Compass implements these goals in every trip and connection across the world, one example being in Dominica, where students will further develop a sense of community by encouraging agricultural cultivation within the youth of Dominica and creating a bond between two cultures. Stone and Compass has grown significantly since its creation in 2012. Starting in one country (Bulgaria) with only nine dollars in his bank account, tours now reach 20 countries and the organization’s revenue is projected to double by 2021. Today, the work of S&C draws on Rob’s education from the University of Massachusetts and California State University, Dominquez Hills to connect people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Russia, Cambodia, Kosovo, Lebanon, Dominica, The Azores, Mexico, England, Nigeria, Kenya, and the U.S. The work of Stone and Compass calls on Robert’s skills and confidence in global communication and organization, all the way up to coordinating with UN ambassadors to create programs across that will impact the community far beyond our time. Along with his all-consuming Stone and Compass role, Robert has been appointed the role of the Executive Director for Global Outreach for the Foundation for the Support of the UN at the United Nations. With this role, Stone and Compass has partnered with the United Nations to advance projects in poverty-striken countries and grow its impact on the world. Not only does Rob oversee the entire Stone and Compass organization, he also manages an intern team consisting of teenagers who posses a global appreciation and passion for change. These interns are offered unique opportunities like creating their own projects across the globe. This aspects of the company makes S&C different from anything else; it is youth driven. The intern program has been so successful in creating positive change and breaking down cultural barriers in 10+ countries that it has grown to 40 students this year. Robert’s continued effort and experience in making Stone and Compass an educational, sustainable platform has proven his success in entrepreneurship.
