I participated in the LAUNCH Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) program that was introduced to the Elmbrook School District in the 2017-2018 school year. In 2017 of my Junior year, I was accepted to participate in the Global Business Strand for my senior year, which included a half-day commitment every day throughout the school year. As this is profession-based experiential learning, we spent a large portion of our time with local business members, learning from them as they shared their expertise and took on projects that addresed real-world business needs across every continent. The LAUNCH program was a tremendous learning opportunity that has given me hands-on experience in the world of business and will serve me well in the years ahead.In the first LAUNCH Business Challenge, I was the Project Manager in which I led a team creating a digital marketing campaign, in collaboration with 5 other students, for GE Healthcare (GEHC) to attract and engage hospitals, cardiologists, nurses, and doctors across the United States and Europe about a new product. The newly redesigned product is planned for release to the market in the first fiscal quarter of 2018, which currently accounts for 75% of GEHC Cardiology division’s revenue. It was really exciting to have the opportunity as Project Manager of my LAUNCH Team and to work alongside with the Global Marketing Manager, Global Sourcing Manager of Cardiology, along with the General Manager of Cardiology Management. I really enjoyed the project management part of the project. I hope to discover more about project management and learn more about Global Marketing and Sales.
