About Robert Hais

Control Systems EIT with over five years of industrial controls experience. Four years of that time spent working with run-of-river hydroelectric facilities in both grid tie and islanded applications. Broad exposure to Schneider and Allen Bradley platforms; fluent in IEC 61131-3 languages (specifically LAD, FB, ST, and SFC). Extensive experience in commissioning and troubleshooting real time control systems. Strong working knowledge of industrial networking and communications protocols such as TCP and RTU Modbus, OPC, and CAN. Well versed in modelling/simulating complicated dynamic systems in numeric computing environments such as Matlab/Simulink and Simapp. Have made use of simulation software to design and tune control architecture for islanded isochronous hydro plant governors. Knowledgeable in using Python and C/C++ to create engineering tools to automate repetitive tasks, parse PLC projects exports, manipulate tag lists, or query runtime PLC values using industrial networking protocols.
