Experienced medicinal chemist and drug hunter in academia, biotech and large pharmaceutical environments. Expertise managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on key program objectives for complex molecular targets. Over 20 years of drug discovery and development experience from target ID to PIIa including leadership of drug discovery and development teams. Delivered 10 development candidates including two PII compounds. Medicinal chemistry experience across multiple therapeutics areas including CNS, pain/inflammation, diabetes, cardiovascular, obesity, endocrinology, oncology and GI drug targets. Successful leader of development team that delivered compounds to clinicaI studies and executed on translational biomarker strategy for CNS enzyme pain target. Excellent collaboration skills across drug discovery disciplines including biology, pharmacology, DMPK, process research, formulation, safety, biomarkers and translational sciences. Biotech entrepreneur as co-founder of New Co Attenua in 2015, focused on re-purposing clinical assets for cough and other indications. Series A financing of $35mm closed in April 2018. Extensive experience working with CROs and external collaborators including membership on joint research committee with discovery alliance partner. Experience with third party due diligence. Over 85 publications in medicinal chemistry and patent literature. Currently working in academic drug discovery to build a portfolio of small molecule discovery programs in neuroscience, oncology, diabetes, infectious disease, inflammation and other indications.
