A long history of computer and communications engineering at Texas Instruments, Bell Laboratories, Tsunami Research (software), SBC, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Baxter Healthcare, ET International, State Farm, and LexisNexis. It has now been 50+ years since my introduction to digital logic circuitry in the Radio and Science Club at J-High! Engineering "firsts": AT & T Safari: I was on the architecture team of the world's first laptop with dial-up networking; AT & T 3B2/600 "Falcon" V-cache: I proposed, architected, led development of, and performance-tested the world's first production UNIX virtual address cache memory ($1.7 Billion USAF contract win); Lifekeeper Fault Resilient Systems: I proposed and developed the world's first parallel recovery algorithm for commercial High-Availability computer cluster failover software. Specialties: Systems engineering: requirements, performance design and benchmarking, test (verification & validation). Software development: C, C++, UNIX/Linux shell scripting and awk. Project engineer: define change packages, co-ordinate engineering, write acceptance tests, manage dates.
