About Robert J. Irwin

As a former Cardiovascular Sonographer, I had the opportunity to work in a wide array of healthcare settings, alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses in team environments, to provide excellent healthcare for patients. These opportunities afforded me a breadth of rewarding personal and professional experiences while also gaining specialized knowledge and skills in my field. While being able to manage multiple complex medical studies has indeed been rewarding, I also became more and more comfortable having honest, meaningful discussions that incorporated the considerations of my patients as well. I felt as if I was in a unique position to provide hope to patients and help them persevere through difficult times. It was this feeling of compassion and the idea of building long-term relationships with patients, along with the emphasis on practicing patient-centered medicine as a healthcare team member, that drove me towards a career as a Physician Assistant.
