About Robert John Hovel

Greetings, and I hope you're doing well and enjoy what you do each day. Those who enjoy what they do each day never "work" a day in their lives. My name is Dr. Robert John Hovel Jr. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, MH 17710, in the state of Florida operating private practice services to clients of various ages. I am also a newly qualified supervisor for Registered Clinical Mental Health Counselor Interns for the state of Florida. I am also a high school educator teaching AP® Psychology inside Lyman High School within Seminole County Public Schools. At Lyman, I also teach through the Dual Enrollment program at Seminole State College the Life & Career Planning course, SLS 1301C. I am also one of two advisors for our Student Government Association (SGA). In past years at Lyman, I have taught SAT Prep, English I Standard, English I Honors and English II Honors/Gifted. Also at Lyman High School, I previously served as a National Honor Society sponsor and the One Blood blood drive coordinator, as well as the class of 2017 sponsor. I have also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida teaching Strategies for Student Success, SLS 1501. In my multiple lines of work, I strive to utilize my experience with people and education to further my career as an educator and mental health professional. I enjoy helping students and people realize their full potential and understanding themselves to the fullest through learning, whether it be in the classroom or in the counseling office. I am interested in providing workshops and seminars on my dissertation research, which entailed Secondary Teacher Authenticity and the importance being your truest and most genuine self as an educator. I am also always looking to grow as a professional in both K-12 and higher education, seeking opportunities to teach psychology courses and strategies for student success courses at the college level.
