About Robert Ketchum

I am seeking a position as a Substance Abuse Counselor. My education, applied experience, and competency have prepared me for the above-mentioned position. I currently work as a Behavioral Health Specialist at Riverside University Health System, San Jacinto Substance Abuse clinic. I have also worked at Lake Elsinore Substance Abuse Clinic and Temecula Day Reporting Center. I have worked for Riverside University Health System for 7 years. I have facilitated both adult and adolescent groups. I have specialized knowledge and skills in the 12 core functions of substance abuse counseling: ASAM screening, orientation referrals, individual counseling, group counseling, relapse prevention, crisis intervention, psycho-educational groups, anger management, intakes, treatment plans, and case management. I have experience in the preparation and maintaining records, reports, and correspondence regarding substance abuse cases. I have co-authored the Hemet New Life Client Handbook and developed a spreadsheet to track AB109 clients currently in residential treatment. I assisted in creating the design and coordination of materials used in orientation. I am confident in using the 12-step approach and Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change.
