About Robert Kirby
I completed my PhD in chemistry and materials from Princeton in 2022 and am currently a scientist at the Canadian Bank Note Company. My PhD research focused on the way that light impacts technologically-relevant quantum materials on ultrashort timescales (femtoseconds to picoseconds), but I have worked on a broad range of other materials and surface science topics, including characterizing semiconductor surfaces, developing optical setups for broadband near-field infrared imaging, growing and characterizing metal-containing mesoporous silica catalyst materials, and producing light-induced nanostructures in polymeric materials. I enjoy doing something different and working on new problems.
