Robert J. Koenig, Ed.D. As an Associate Dean at New York Tech, Koenig was on the administrative team that assisted the college in receiving AACSB accreditation. He has raised over a half million dollars in financial sponsorships, student scholarships and in-kind donations for student initiatives and college fund raisers. Koenig has maintained and budgeted faculty, staff and course schedules for management undergraduate/graduate courses, strengthening school curriculum and degree development, minors and MBA concentrations. He has established international educational programs, articulation agreements, MOU's and partnerships in Australia, Romania, France, Switzerland, Vancouver, B.C, South Korea, and China. The international programs under his guidance have been featured and recognized in the 2016 NAFSA – Association of International Educators 2016 Internationalizing the Campus, Profile of Success at College and Universities. Koenig has received academic awards for administrative leadership, teaching, and community service which include: NYIT Presidential Engagement Award for Student Engagement in Global Education; Honorary Professor from Shandong Technology and Business University in Yantai, China; Suffolk County Long Island Legislative Proclamation Award for Education Excellence; Strategic Partnership Award from Tourism College of Zhejiang, Hangzhou, China. He serves on leading professional and academic boards and has published works in peer-reviewed research journals and university textbooks. He has been featured on nationwide television, radio talk shows and cited in The Washington Post; Lodging Magazine; Hotelier; and other publications. He has also presented research papers at conferences domestically and internationally, including speaking engagements at West Point Military Academy, N.Y, Dignitaries of China's Peking University, and other venues. As a former professional chef and businessman, Koenig served as chef at the 1985 Inauguration of President Ronald Reagan and Vice President George H. Bush; General Manager/Executive Chef at The Old Original Bookbinders, Philadelphia, Pa; Corporate Executive for Tidewater Inn Management, overseeing five food and beverage hotel properties. He has cooked for high-profile individuals including two United States Presidents, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Merv Griffin, Robert Wagner, Ava Gabor, Jesse Jackson, Don Rickles, Tony Randall, Jack Klugman, Donna Summers, and others.
