About Robert Krogh

In the beginning there was nothing, a void absent of anything tangible. Then, out from nothing sprang, in an explosion of colors and sound previously undefined: video games. And from that point things moved rapidly, taking shape, evolving, expanding. My big bang of sentience is nothing I remember, but its background radiation can still be measured even today. An undying interest for technology had been born, and I wouldn’t let trivial obstacles, such as complete ignorance of the alphabet, stop me from navigating the vast libraries of the C64.Nowadays, as a father of two, I keep getting inspired by my tiny half-clones learning, untiring, frequently failing until they master a new skill. I like being inspired, almost as well as I like to inspire others. How do you develop an interest from that proto-sentience? Curiosity and courage. It holds true even as the solar laps accumulates. It is the nerd in me that has helped me lead my own life, to make what choices I’ve made to be where I am at, at this time of writing. Be it in reading, in studies or at work, it has been the willful curiosity to explore the unexplored and courage to not stop on a theoretical plane. In life just as in the old video games: you can either stop where you are, stop playing, but then it’s only a silent Game Over, or you can press on into the unknown and see where that takes you, for ahead is neither failure nor success, there is only progress. Finally, to quote an old master: “Do, or do not, there is no try”.
