About Robert Lamont

I have six cumulative years of lab experience in laboratories based on biochemistry/chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and food science. I gained experience with mammalian cell biology techniques and culturing during my undergraduate research project at the University of Guelph. I then gained a year of industry experience as a lab tech at SGS doing QA/QC work on samples of wheat and flour. Following this experience, I completed a Master of Science degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University where I worked on determining the structure-function relationship of a Gram-negative bacterial membrane protein. I worked as a graduate teaching assistant as a graduate student, where I shared my enthusiasm and expertise with undergraduate chemistry students and fostered a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Lately, I have been representing the Kitchener-based company Sterasure as their resident research coordinator and performing my duties as lead chemist to ensure the production of high-quality hypochlorous acid for wound cleaning and sterilization in clinics and hospitals.
