About Robert Locklear

When I was 9 years old, my favorite activities were writing my own books and making art. Today I'm still on the same track with my journalism degree and graphic design minor.In college, I wrote for the student newspaper for several years before writing as a freelancer before I had graduated while also gaining experience with a graphic design job for two years in school.Beyond school, I've had the opportunity to use both my artistic and journalistic skills while picking up some more. As a digital content producer for ABC13-WSET, I am responsible for writing articles, scheduling newsletters, running multiple social media accounts, and helping delegate digital tasks for the team. I've also pushed beyond the job description to create distinctive visual journalism pieces that set the TV station's Instagram apart from the competition. Some of my work has been instrumental in gaining a larger following and establishing a cohesive online presence on social media.That's where my passions lie-finding ways to converge design and journalism into work that is engaging and effectively communicates a story. I've got aspirations to take those skills even further, eventually including grad school, but especially in the jobs and work I do along the way.
