About Robert M. Creamer

Since 1989, I have been a partner at the law firm Lawson Creamer in Saint John, New Brunswick. My practice concentrates on insolvency work in which I represent secured creditors, trustees and businesses. My practice also includes commercial litigation in which I negotiate, mediate, and litigate claims for individuals, businesses, banks and municipalities. I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1980, and my Bachelor of Law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 1985. Prior to practicing law, I worked in the banking sector and the in oil and gas industry in Western Canada. Currently, I am Vice-President of the Law Society of New Brunswick. I served as president of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and as the New Brunswick chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Municipal Law Subsection. I was also Treasurer of the Law Society of New Brunswick, a member of the Law Society Insurance Management Committee and the Law Society Audit and Risk Management Committee. I have lectured and written extensively on Insolvency related matters, Creditors Rights, Insurance Law, Negligence, Liability and Damages, the Fundamentals of Litigation, Municipal Liability, Wills, Estates and Trusts. I recently served as the chairperson for the Red Cross Humanitarian Awards and chaired the Major Donor Division on a significant fundraising initiative for the Imperial Theatre in Saint John, New Brunswick. In addition, I served as a director with the board of the Saint John Airport Inc. and also as chair of the advisory committee for the Saint John Foundation. I am past president and director of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
