About Robert McCutcheon

As an accomplished mechanical engineer, I am passionate about creating innovative products that captivate and satisfy users. With over a decade of experience in this field, I have a strong product development and design background, specializing in sheet metal design, fabricated structures, UX design, FEA, CFD, DFA, and DFS. During my career, I've successfully designed, tested, and introduced seven products to the commercial landscaping industry that have been manufactured tens of thousands of times. I've also contributed to conceiving and executing four limited-production robotics products. The robotics products have seen a 10x increase in production volume during my tenure and have been deployed nationwide. I served as the project lead for five of these product development endeavors. My collaborative approach has allowed me to work closely with and lead cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, testing, software, supply chain, and production teams. We have strategically planned product requirements, iterated on designs, tested and improved specifications, and launched products with exceptional efficiency and attention to detail. Throughout my career, I've undertaken diverse challenges, such as developing and deploying computer vision systems, crafting electric drivetrains, engineering custom lithium-ion batteries, integrating ultrasonic sensor arrays, and orchestrating intricate custom electronic systems integrations for PCBAs and cable assemblies. Furthermore, I've designed and overseen the fabrication and machining of structural components.
